Lost in the park at 7501 Harrison last night. I guess this little shitzu mix slipped out of his collar . I saw the police, park ranger and everyone else, chasing it around the park until it slipped under the fence and went on the tracks.
Its a 25-20lbs brown and white shitzu mix. His name is piper. He's 4 yts old and very skittish. Yes, one year the Garlishs won for the work on their house on Thomas.  Another year it was a gay couple that lived at Lathrop and Harvard.
 
My objection to his winning is the example it sets.  Don't bother with permits and you can win Home Pride awards.

Have never had the morbid curiousity to seek out grotesque visual images of human or any other kind of suffering, victimization. Yes, well aware atrocities are perpetrated everyday by human beings on human beings and recorded for the comsumption, whether to horrify, titilate, ?????, of yet even more human beings.

D/t the rapid growth of technology, easy accessibility, people can now carry this shit around in their pockets for their viewing pleasure. As to why, I don't know, maybe it's the new "cool"? Yes, the thought of that sickens and worries me.

I personally believe CHOOSING to view these images desensitizes, takes a little piece of us away, the world a little uglier, not good for the soul.

Remember as a kid paging through a magazine, don't remember which, there was a picture of an Asian market, little dogs with their forelegs dislocated and tied behind them, still very much alive, hanging from hooks over the vendor's head. Knew they were meant food but to this day can't understand the need for the torturous hanging while waiting for purchase. I'm 60 yrs old yet that image still comes to mind whenever triggered by somehing.

Shocked? No. Horrified, sickened and incredibly sad that this exists in the world and my Grandkid had it put in her face? Yes.

How about the beheadings of Daniel Pearl and others in Pakistan and Iraq??   YOU may not have watched them, but they've been widely available and easily accessible for over 10 years.
